Primordial Qi

Recommended Posts

I think the concept of reversion is especially important , there are 2 meanings:

1) after jing (sperm) having sublimated to qi , our main life energy is no longer released downwards, but can

go reversely upward to our head / mind , making our body very healthier and mind outsmart others . Such change also implies some spatial relocation of our jing and shen on different level ..

2) After having attaining the pre-heavenly qi , the time arrow of our life 's process towards death starts to slow down , even reversed .

okkkkkkkkk in this homepage we can read: http://www.damo-qigong.net/qi-theory.htm :

Primordial Qi is also named Genuine Qi. It is manufactured by Kidney Essence and functions as the primary motive force for the growth and development of the human body, as well as the functional activities of Zangfu Organs. After being manufactured, it goes through the whole body by the way of the San Jiao to promote the life activities.

The main function of Primordial Qi is to initiate and promote the vital activities. The growth and development of the human body, and the functional activities of Zangfu Organs all depend on Primordial Qi. Therefore, when Primordial Qi is sufficient, the functional activities of Zangfu Organs will be strong and the constitution will be good. However, if Primordial Qi is deficient due to a congenital defect or improper feeding after birth, the functional activities of the whole body will become weakened.

It must be pointed out that the mutability of Primordial Qi is not only determined by the congenital Essence, but also determined by the acquired Essence or the Food Essence sent down to the Kidney. So congenital Deficiency of Primordial Qi can be corrected to some extent by supplementing the acquired Essence, or by strengthening the function of the Spleen and Stomach to promote the production of Food Essence. Long-standing diseases, which often consume the Essence of the human body, may lead to Deficiency of Primordial Qi.

here is good books about that subject:

http://www.amazon.com/Primordial-Breath-An...2216&sr=1-1

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/094...ddallbooksearch

~

Here we can read that embryonic breathing is the same as primordial breathing :P is then embryonic breathing or primordial breathing, the same as abdominal breating?

Thanks

The quoted content is TCM's concept of qi , and is a little different from Taoist ones ; Because TCM doctors usually do not have deep personal experience in qi, especially pre-heavenly/congenital one , so their understanding is mainly relied on reading classics and healing of diseases :

i.e. study the imbalance status of post-heavenly qi and deficiency of post-heavenly qi in human body , and , try to manipulate the status by herbs and needles...

Generally speaking ,theirs are inferior to Taoist .

Tao gives birth to One

...

Dao gives birth to one...

This is a very common rendering of

道 生一 ddj 42

yet: you have a logical problem:

If dao gives birth to one,

then it is outside of one - only then it can give birth to it.

-

the chinese

道 生一

has not this problem

the problem arises in the interpretation.

the sinograph 生 depicts a plant growing.

m5738k.gif

Thus you can understand the sentence

as dao helps to develop the unity - saying it supports integration...

this makes more sense for me...

What you are explaining is actually 法,which is 天氣一氣. The qi is written different in Chinese too. In the name of 正一 Zhen Yi, the Yi means one in the character, but in taoism, it also means 正氣 Zhen Qi. Positive qi or faat. Nicely done Dao Zhen, you did a great post with all those graphics too. This forum is now filling up with more "taoism" stuff nowadays.

Maybe in most cases this is correct but I was under the impression their are some lineage holders of acupuncture. Are those not Taoist Lineage holders of healing... just in modern times when expressed what they are they are called inheritors of acupuncture? (What I mean is they are Taoists inheriting of healing practices, but their profession is an Acupuncture Doctor)

FAAT is the more condensed pre-heavenly qi which most people cannot get from chi gung and any intenral practise but Taoism. This energy is way beyond the qi used in Chi Gung or martial arts. But it is used for a reason which is just good for the taoism stuff we do like mantras, fu and spells, etc,. Kungfu and chi gung do not need this in their system because they do not need it. Different types of qi are for different purpose and usaeg, so there is no higher or lower in rankings. Just depends on what you need.

In taoism trainings, you do need the FAAT.
