Usually, we use a bowl like the above for burning FU to make cleansing water or purifying water with FU energy. This tool above is called the "Sui Jing" in Taoism. 水孟, but sound like 水淨. It is a tool in Taoism which we use to keep purifying water and sacred water. It is usually placed on the altar.
