jaloo Posted December 27, 2008 I would suggest we just drop this thread folks. MTS is going to continue to do what he does, like it or not. In my experience its rude behavior, but hey its just my opinion. You may share it or not. Bottom line is that there are some folks getting waaaay to wound up about this. Lets help our fellow bums out by not increasing the kleshas. MTS never responded to this thread, so lets take his example and just ignore it. MTS, good luck peddling your wares. Mak_Tin_Si Posted December 27, 2008 I do see that what people like to "discuss" about here nowadays. All people here like things that are "not taoism" but "hot topics and arguments", "bitching around", "bumping", these post got up so high in clicks in one day, like 500+ wow.. I was shocked and amazed. While those "intro to taoism...", "sharing of case..", "fungshui knowledges..", "Chinese cultures..." which are playing part in Taoism will not be something that people like in a "Taoism forum". No wonder the western is mostly holding on a book of DDJ like their bible. Too bad, that is how world works.

You see, the thing is that this is not just a religious Taoism forum. ...health and cultivation practices such as Tai Chi and Qigong (Chi Kung), nonconceptual meditation approaches such as Zuowang (sitting and forgetting), ... ...Discussion is encouraged to wander eclectically across a wide range of spiritual thought and practice, whether Buddhist, Yogic, Tantric, Judaic, Advaitic, Christian, Islamic, Shamanic, Occult, "New Age", Integral... As long as you are up for a good time, you're welcome to discuss your path. ...
Mak_Tin_Si Posted December 27, 2008 I do see so. Who saw me saying things like "bump" and "the annoying ch igung" etc,? I never stopped anybody from posting their information on other subjects like chi gung, meditation, yoga whatever. I am just posting mine. If you have nothing to post over time, does it mean this forum shall remain silence? I saw other forums which are not active, they are like dead city, 1-2 post per month, you think that is what you want here too? I have 10 post per day, you can do 20, but please, post something that is informational, don't be so childish and play with "bumps" or "votes", you are not communist. You see, the thing is that this is not just a religious Taoism forum.

Probably nobody would say anything if you made 20 posts a day, but if you make even 10 topics a day, that's very annonying and perhaps rude. Of course you're free to post about anything you want just like everyone else, but other people don't post that many topics, one after the other, there is a variety. It's like if I'd go and post 30 topics about various subjects of NLP when I was interested in it, I don't think people would've been been exactly happy with that. you are not communist. Who knows. r.w.smith Posted December 27, 2008 Dear Mak Tin Si, If things become too Hot in here maybe you/we could start a forum on your webpage,i would join immediatly & im certain many people here would be happy to moderate for you too. Just a suggestion. That way you can be rid of any of the trouble makers & continue with the great posts. Regards,

People can do and say what they like So personally I have 2 ideas for topics but I'm not posting them at the moment because they will just get flooded down the board by Mak_Tin_Si's various threads. "hot topics and arguments" are discussions, and that's why I like it here. It's a discussion forum, not a soapbox where you need to shout down the person with the loudest voice
Vajrasattva Posted December 27, 2008 Gee where is everyones sense of humor? The Fupa was funny... I Guess to much FUMOR and not enough Humor.
Wayfarer64 Posted December 27, 2008 hey this is funny- the amount of energy put into this thread is far beyond the input onto the numerous threads started here by the subject of discussion. - all the Fu threads - I guess I would politly ask: Please sir be kind to those of us who feel inundated by this onslaught and condense yr output that then becomes our input...Is not so much to ask on a public forum. Still, I find more to question in some of these "attacks" than in the original topic of discussion. We can be open and opinionated without rancor. even if the number of seperate topics is intrusive on a site that gladly makes room for everyone I think that the response to this thread far out-numbering the responses to the many seperate Fu threads says it all- to condense these Fu threads just makes sense. We started as a rather smaller community that seems to have been invaded over the past year by tens of thousands of new folks -this is a wonderful and great thing but there seems to be some need of self-restraint from each of us in how we comport ourselves now that some "over-crowding" has set in here. There is room for everyone, but singlular and maybe vested interests need not start crowding out others...It is somewhat like gentrification, when one set of interests commands the realestate at the expence of others... It may be that we need socialistic questions to be asked of each other as to how best we can get along...That is not communistic- a word too often mis-used all around the world... These Fu threads have interest for many of us. That is also a real and good thing. It adds to our knowledge and is of use. It is only the manner in which it is offered that has created an issue. That should not be so difficult to adjust and make more "user friendly"- Peace -and happy new year to all-PDG
Aetherous Posted December 27, 2008 Mak Tin Si, I see your behavior as rude. Sean created a personal forum for you to post everything, and you continued to post tons of topics in the discussions area. You're just making his job hard by pissing off most people here...it's creating a lot of drama, so why not just follow the advice and post everything in your personal section? You have been posting multiple threads on the same topic, like ghost busting ones. I think yesterday there were like 5 different threads on the same subject, with just a slightly different story to each. If you're going to continue to post on the main discussion area, please at least combine posts of the same topic into one thread. It'll be easier for people to find that way, as well! Make all of the altar posts into one thread, and just reply to the thread with info about a different kind of altar. That kind of thing would be a lot less rude...if you're going to continue to not listen to what Sean asked you to do, which was post in your personal section. Lostmonk, You know, most of the people in this thread are pathetic. You are coming here to this forum to try and learn and better yourself, and now act like bratty children. The only rudeness around here, is these people suddenly popping out of the woodwork bitching about MTS's posts. If you're that damn lazy you cant click the buttons to see older threads, what are you doing here? In the past month or so, the true colors of most of the people on this forum have come out. You're not here to better yourself, but only to escape the demons of your own past. You only like the topic as long as it doesn't look to much like the religion you hate. Your post is very full of disgust.

doc benway Posted December 28, 2008 I get a kick out of the FU humor around here. In fact, for my purposes the humor is more valuable than the FUs themselves (that's just me - I don't mean to demean FUs or thost that value them). That said - I find this forum (and others) a marvelous venue to cultivate myself. Whenever I react emotionally to a post or a poster, I find it a great opportunity to learn something about myself and to hone my skills and get closer to understanding myself. My reaction to Mak Ti Sin, Max Christensen, and so forth, teaches me much more about me than about them. I would challenge my fellow Bums to take the opportunity to use the posts and posters that bug you as a mirror of yourself. What is it about them that bugs you? What does that tell you about YOU? That is much more valuable than what it tells you about THEM... On the other hand, I could be completely full of shit - that's cool too! Just my $.02... froggie Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) Mak tin si just likes to post, it's okay to like to post and to discuss, i think everyone here could have a readyness to allow that. On the other hand i see mak tin si is talking from a pretty high stool and has not a great deal consideration for others himself, (personal observation) except, mostly, when there is a deal in it for him (and moneywise nonetheless) (although he is already making a small change is what i am noticing, myself) still, i think some balance is missing, but surely mak is not the only one to blame and again still many things are relative (but that shouldn't keep you from trying to improve even if things seem relative) i think kind of a firm openness is not bad for anyone Edited December 28, 2008 by froggie
Squatting Monkey Posted December 28, 2008 The guy is still at it. Multiple topics every day. Taoism hats, shoes, robes FFS ! Selling this and selling that. Fair enough if it's books or payment for someone's time. But programs, courses, distance learning etc etc. The Tao is not for sale. Herein lies the problem of our materialistic society.
