TwoTrees Posted September 1, 2005 It could very well be that some also find entertainment to be of significant value. Â And yes, you are right. But I kind of have a hard time digesting that there is an extent to human capacities...I know there are limitations and difficulties in aspiration, but is so much more fun to try and reach beyond them...IMHO
Lozen Posted September 2, 2005 You may want to check out the book When the Buddha Dated. It's pretty good.

Yoda Posted September 4, 2005 taobum vs thetaobums reminds me of the Gurdjieff vs Ouspinsky fallout. It's pointless to debate, blame, fight, or try to heal it. Whether or not Gurdjieff went nuts, got mean, became disapointed with Ouspinsky, or was compassionately using skillful means as a teacher, the whole thing helped Ouspinsky to stand on his own two feet. I've learned a tremendous amount from the taobum gang, particularly Ron and Plato, but that doesn't mean we have to exchange Christmas cards or anything. Lozen Posted September 5, 2005 What insults? Haven't read it. Don't plan to.  Thanks. I'll look into that. Btw, how do you cope with the insults on Taobum? It's pretty lame. h 6786
Lozen Posted September 5, 2005 Will do--like I said, haven't read it and don't plan to.  Let me know how you like the book.  Just childish pranks writing things in your name. Best to just ignore it.  h  Btw, I'm looking for the Buddha book you mentioned... 6815
