Gerard Posted February 15, 2009 Start with this one: A Complete Guide to Chi-Gung by Daniel Reid http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/157.../webdetoxcom-20 The best ever-written (but too complex in certain parts which warrants direct supervision) is the following: Qigong Empowerment: A Guide to Medical, Taoist, Buddhist, Wushu Energy Cultivation by Shou-Yu Liang & Wen-Ching Wu http://www.amazon.com/Qigong-Empowerment-M...0624&sr=1-
Aetherous Posted February 16, 2009 My favorite is The Way of Qigong by Kenneth Cohen.

It's a pretty nice one, but if i had to give my best advice it would be to read as many books on the subject and related subjects as possible, and start with the one's that seem the most nice. Ya Mu Posted February 16, 2009 I really liked this book. by Peter Meech. Not too many books about qigong tell the truth of what is required to really learn it, IMOH. This book is well written and enjoyable. It is required reading for all my qigong students. It is not a book on HOW to do qigong.

Sloppy Zhang Posted February 18, 2009 I think that B.K. Frantzis' "Opening the Energy Gates of Your Body" is pretty good, though I'm just working through it right now and not that far... Dainin Posted February 18, 2009 I like both of Roger Jahnke's books: The Healer Within: Using Traditional Chinese Techniques To Release Your Body's Own Medicine *Movement *Massage *Meditation *Breathing The Healing Promise of Qi: Creating Extraordinary Wellness Through Qigong and Tai Chi Bruce Frantzis' last book The CHI Revolution: Harnessing the Healing Power of Your Life Force looks like it would be a good entry level book. Regarding Hugo's comments above, I don't think Dr. Yang's Root of Chinese Qigong really gives any dangerous techniques. It hardly has any techniques at all, but is an excellent book on the theories behind qigong, probably better for an intermediate student. I think Hugo is probably thinking of Qigong, The Secret of Youth: Da Mo's Muscle/Tendon Changing and Marrow/Brain Washing Classics, forms which I've heard referred to as risky if not learned from an experienced teacher. Martial Development Posted February 18, 2009 I have a copy of Paul Dong's new book Chi Kung. I've only read as far as the introduction, but I found that unusually insightful.
