You get three stars for that post. All three exellent songs. I'm listening to my collection of the song "Death Letter" right now. Seems I got into a funky mood. Marblehead Posted August 16, 2011 (edited) 42 years ago today elvis aron pressley left us. there is a difference between pre 1962 and post 1962 elvis Actually, I make the cut at 1959. He still did get some really great some out after that but most of the songs after 1959 were commerical efforts where he wasn't allowed to present his roots. I'm listening to this guy this morning: Edited August 16, 2011 by Marblehead

Marblehead Posted August 17, 2011 Yep. Dem be da roots. The only one of those artists I have in my collection is Leadbelly. I can remember the first time I heard Odetta singing "Cotton Fields". Just last week I watched a movie about Woody. David Carridine played the role.

Marblehead Posted August 17, 2011 http://www.4shared.com/audio/eqtmds_v/02_Sweatshop.html It appears you enjoy the "ambient" style of music. I do too during certain moods.

Marblehead Posted August 18, 2011 (edited) Too Jazzy for me. For some reason it caused me to think of Ultimate Spinach. They did some things that were too jazzy for me as well but I really did like the group and the music they did that was psychedelic based. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9XZIy8tTiM&feature=related Edited August 18, 2011 by Marblehead

Marblehead Posted August 19, 2011 Solid! Okay. I like that one. The jazz was kept in the background where it belongs. Hehehe. Seems like these cats ate their spinach! Yeah. They didn't stay together long. I guess they couldn't decide if the wanted to do jazz or rock.

Marblehead Posted August 19, 2011 (edited) these foggy august mornings in the hills..... anyways gonna have mean mary kick it off(i am fond of mean girls) Yeah, Mean Mary did some great clawing. I was waiting for the hammer but it never came down. Orange Blossom Special. Yep. Chubby Wise lived pretty close to where I live so I was able to see him many times. No one can do that song better than he did. I have the cassette of his Waltz collection. Really great music. Here's the banjo hammer man: BTW This guy is pretty darned good too. Marblehead Posted August 19, 2011 Amazing remix. Makes me smile, makes me cry, makes me smile again. I would have remixed it again and reduce the drums during the vocals but that's just me. Nice song.

ralis Posted August 22, 2011 When I first saw Amy Lee years ago, I was amazed by the power of her voice. To sing in front of a Gothic Metal band and pull it off is awesome.

~riverflow Posted August 22, 2011 I tend to be all over the place musically (classical, rock, post-rock, punk, ambient, folk, electronica, jazz, avant-garde), but lately I've been getting into Wire. This tune (and energy) has been stuck in my head for quite some time:
