Marblehead Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) There's actually a story that goes with the Mancini LP that I have. The year was 1960. I was on a troop ship, the USS Rose, headed for my first overseas assignment in Germany. I carried my record player and some of my Rock 'n' Roll with me so I could listen to music whenever I had the time. One guy came up to me one day and made an offer: He had an LP in his hand and he said, "If you play this once in a while I will give it to you." I said I would and he gave it to me. Wells Posted February 2, 2014 (edited) FOREVER KNIGHT fan videos with the original soundtrack enjoy! This series was the reason why I once prowled around in a black trenchcoat even in summer, had black nail polish, black dyed hair...and black make-up under my eyes! I still love the atmosphere of it... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EH7BI0rHIE http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jbjGhoSOXIA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PBOGqRIqXkA http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pbiQlqpWOm8 Edited February 2, 2014 by Dorian Black

Marblehead Posted February 3, 2014 I have switched artists. Now I am listening to the Moody Blues' first album. This album was cut before they had established their own style and it contains a great variety of different styles of music. The album I have is a collectable because it is not even in their "Discography". It is self-titled (on the "London" label) record as "The Moody Blues" and on the cover as " Go Now The Moody Blues #1". About half of the songs on it do not appear on the acclaimed Moody Blues first album titled "The Magnificant Moody Blues". Interesting too is that on the record label, side two, the song "Bye Bye Bird" has a typo that causes it to read "Bye Bye Burd". Plus, there isn't a copyright date on either the cover, the record label or the record itself. Also interesting is that the back cover liner notes were written by Donovan. Of course, the song that kicked off their career was this one:
Captain Mar-Vell Posted February 3, 2014 ... Man I love the Moody Blues. Nights in White Satin used to be one of my Karaoke favourites. Days of Future Passed call me, Glittering Spires of Antiquity. ...

GreytoWhite Posted February 3, 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mSAqkGU2nQ4 I saw these guys a few years back at the Tempe Block Party for New Year's Eve. It was a blast, smoking doobies with cougars, dancing in the limited space we had in the middle of the crowd. I smoked out some Canadians and had a bit of conversation, I was apparently the smartest American they had met.
Marblehead Posted February 4, 2014 It amazes me that someone living in California would actuall listen to that style of music. I switched styles of music this morning. I felt like some Bluegrass music. Charlie Sizemore is singing right now.

Marblehead Posted February 5, 2014 I actually do have some Beach Boys in my collection but added them only recently as my collection of 1960s music was pretty skinny. (Back in the 1960s I was turned off by most of the popular music as most of it lacked a soul.)
Marblehead Posted February 5, 2014 That's quite nice. Little wonder his guitar is skinned up.

Marblehead Posted February 5, 2014 Well you better click the arrow on #3154 then . I did see that post. For whatever the reason I never was a big fan of the Supremes. Likely because they were part of the Motown Soul and it has always been my opinion that Motown ruined the original Soul music of the early 1960s.

Because it took the soul and tried to commercialise, dress it up and bling it and give it a fat sound ? Hmmm ... sounds like new Age spirituality. In a weird way - thats partly why I like it ... like those bare feet in the clip (an attempt to illustrate the story line) go SO WELL with their little outfits ... I like corny perverse stuff Edited February 5, 2014 by Nungali
Marblehead Posted February 6, 2014 I wasn't really listening to this but the thought of women in leather recalled this song for me and I decided to share.
