barka Posted March 27, 2009 a few years back, in my late teens, i developed an interest in Qi Gong, and subsequently came across Mantak Chias books. as a young man with a raging sex drive i became facinated with the idea of developing special sexual abilities, and without understanding what i was really doing started experimenting with semen retention (while masturbating, i wasnt sexually active at the time.) like i said i had very little experience with qi gong beyond a few exercises my previous kung fu teacher had demonstrated. after a few weeks of forcing myself not to ejaculate (which felt uncomfortable) i realised something had changed. circulation to my genitals was now limited, i was unable to gain an erection just from fantasising, (i also wasnt waking with an erection), and there was very little feeling in my penis. this obviously devastated me and for the next say three years i went to different natural therapists, as well as a urologist (who was incredibly unhelpful), in an attempt to find a solution. during these years i found sex to be strange as i was able to last for up to an hour sometimes, as sensation was very limited. a few months ago i started having acupuncture, and it has helped tremendously. things seem to be getting better and better with each session. erections are now much stronger, there is a lot of sensation, my testicles hang lower and i have even noticed my urination is incredibly strong. on top of that i also feel a lot more relaxed and happy. one thing which i am curious about is: the days following acupuncture my condition improves greatly, and then my bowels seem to loosen up and i need to go the toilet more often than usual. accompanying this the blood flow to my penis seems to lessen, in fact ive even noticed my face turns a lot paler (my skin is usually glowing and very healthy looking in the days immediately following acupuncture.) its not so much that things reverse, (as the 'signal' to my genitals remains) but this 'paleness' seems to come over my body. my practitioner has said that the movement of my bowels and the 'wet' heat sensation i feel moving down my legs sometimes is the result of 'damp heat' being expelled from my body. there seems to be less and less 'damp heat' these days, but the process of my body becoming 'pale' still occurs. also i have noticed that the acupuncture sessions are much more powerful when i have abstained for a week or so beforehand. i'm not really sure i have a specific question, but i thought this forum would be a good place to gain different perspectives on what has happened to me over the last few years. i trust my practioner a lot and am tremendously grateful for the help i have recieved, i'm just curious as to the perspectives others may have. Any thoughts/advice?

Any thoughts/advice? Hi barka It's good to hear that you are better now. Unfortunately many people got hurt from the bullshit of Mantak Chia. Somebody must end that. He has to be banned from the chi kung enviroment. Or somebody must beat him. My advice is not to go too much inside chi kung without a guidance. Many people gone mad because of wrong training. Nobody will be immortal. Live your life, have g/f, enjoy sex. You are a young boy, for crying out loud. Z

barka Posted March 27, 2009 I read your article Trunk, and found it very interesting. in fact that was how i found this site. I know you say in the article that you arent offering solutions, but do you have any anecdotal evidence of people recovering from things like this? and any advice as to how i could further aid my own recovery? thanks.. 宁 Posted March 27, 2009 1. i really didnt go deep into the books i had, 2. i just took the idea of retention and thought id give it a shot, 3. without knowledge of what i was doing... Hello there, sorry to hear what happened to you. It seems you already found out the causes. To me it's really important to know everything there is to know about this kind of practices before i plunge in head first. You're not the only one, just to ease your mind... Most of them did the same mistakes. But if have the time and patience to take these kind of things seriously, study, get feedback from an instructor or teacher, you may see miracles. Good luck L1 PS: Follow the Yellow Brick Road (the link in my signature should give you another view on the subject)
Moonbar Posted March 27, 2009 When people talk of semen retention - do they mean reaching orgasm & then through some method or other keeping their semen inside (not squirting) or just not even becoming stimulated - no sex or masturbation (leaving the little fella alone). I can understand how the former may result in problems but can the latter? Any ideas?
barka Posted March 27, 2009 i think retention generally refers to the former. the latter would be abstinence i think.
growant Posted March 27, 2009 There is a Taoist priest, Mak Tin Si, who posts here and says he has experience and success healing people damaged by Mantak Chia's stuff in the past. I have not worked with him yet, but we have corresponded and he seems knowledgable and nice, his website is http://www.taoismcanada.com/ , if you give him a try let us know how it goes. markern Posted March 27, 2009 Sorry to hear about your troubles Barka! This thread has got/points too the information you need to practice retention succesfully and safely: http://www.thetaobums.com/Authentic-Tantri...hers-t9421.html Be sure to go slooooow. Every time you have multiple orgasms in the begining I think you should still come most of the times untill you can build up to a frequency suited to you. The Karezza article is essential. Take Lao Tzus advice. Get a solid foundation in the non arroused practices first. If you can get Karzai Nei Tsang massages or at least chi nei tsang or something similar that would be very helpfull in your case. Any sort of soft genital massages done by yourself also seems like a very good idea.
barka Posted March 27, 2009 thanks for all the replies. im not actually interested in practising semen retention, just wanting to understand further how i can heal completely, although i have made considerable progress so far with acupuncture. and by the way, that Karezze articles was really interesting. Eric23 Posted March 27, 2009 Don't throw the baby out with the bath water. Qi Gong is a wonderful way to open the circuits of the body. There are numerous forms that at the outside have nothing to do with retention or sexual kung fu. Qi Gong can be a very healthy wonderful addition to anyone's life. Agreed with the other posters that a young guy like you just starting out should let nature take her course in the area of semen. But don't confuse the universe of qi gong with specific sexual techniques, it's much larger.

松永道 Posted March 28, 2009 (edited) thanks for all the replies. im not actually interested in practising semen retention, just wanting to understand further how i can heal completely, although i have made considerable progress so far with acupuncture. Barka, One of the characteristics of TCM is it includes methods for reducing and tonifying. I don't want to step on your acupunturist's toes here but if you're getting pale after treatments that means you reached a stage where you can either, A. keep reducing until the dampness is completely out of the system. B. Start tonifying. Or C. Continue reducing while simultaneously beginning tonification. Generally Herbs (and dietary therapy) are most effective for tonifying (it's hard to nourish with a needle). If your acupunturist doesn't know herbs, ask him to consult a colleague, and at the very least you can take some Chinese patent medicines. I'll add that the nice, reddish complexion is not necessarily healthy. Damp heat is an excessive condition often caused by underlying deficiency. The disease patterns layer like an onion, the more immediate pattern is shaped by, but often obscures the pattern beneath. Peel away the damp heat and you'll encounter the deficiency beneath. 林愛偉 Posted April 3, 2009 (edited) Semen retention must go hand in hand with daily practice, and staying away from sexually oriented stimulants must be adhered to. You may not be looking at pictures, or craving after every women you see in the streets, but as long as there is some erection, or sensation at the penis, and or any type of semen leakage, it is a sign that the mind still holds causes of sexual desire. thus, daily practice of moving your energy away from the genitals, and through the body would be advised. In cultivation, people like to sell the idea of dual cultivation, and or masturbation to "move the energy", but this will only hurt you. If you do not have a teacher to guide you through the stages in retention practice, DO NOT DO IT. Qigong is not a game, or just a hobby to take. Too many people practice it now a days, and too many people de-value the practice. Retention will not harm you as long as you practice and move your energy, BUT most importantly while cultivating the retention practices stay away from any sexually related thoughts, music, movies, videos and pictures along with the opposite sex, in terms of close bodily and emotional stimulation. No sexual stimulation what so ever. Its a "sacrifice" many do not want to make, and they rationalize and research why its not good to cultivate retention pratices, thus they will never see the value in such practices. It should not be done by a novice, and especially not the first year of practice. Peace, Lin Edited April 3, 2009 by 林愛偉
