As I see it, there isn't so much to do...

put on your robes, eat your food, and pass the time doing nothing. -

And retire when the work is done.

"In practice those who believe that they can make progress in a taoist physical discipline without instruction from those who are further along the path, will find that they have an idiot for teacher and a fool for a student."

Your thoughts reflect against the surface of your reality which is a duality. Only through non-duality can you understand The Tao. --Paul Gongwang (very old hermit)

“the probability that this universe is base reality and not a computer simulation is one in a billion” --Elon Musk

I actually do not agree with this because, even as great a genius as he is, Elon cannot know all possibilities, which will always skew the probabilities.  But, still his argument is fascinating:

Elon Musk is a bigger con man and scam artist than Trump was (is).  I would suggest that one should question every word he says.

Can anyone explain why there was existence before there was ever the concept of a computer?

Yes, the machine itself.  Prior to the invention of the computer no one talked about reality being a computer simulation.  There weren't any computers to simulate reality.

Yes, but our programmers had not led us to those concepts yet.  They were still arguing about it in one of the many inter-dimensional college coffee houses.

That sounds like the sound I would imagine of one walking on a carpet of discarded bubble gum.

Good try though.
