林愛偉 Posted April 26, 2009 So I was wondering are temples alowed to ordain monks in buddhism or is it just monasteries? And if one is a monk can they have other jobs to like being a cook? If one is fully ordained that means they have taken all precepts and thus are not to take money as their eward for work, services. Some monasteries do ordain people to be monks, but most temples do not. Most temples can direct one to a temple/monastery who can transmit the full precepts. Some monks have not taken full precepts and thus can touch money. Peace, Lin
