Spiritual_Aspirant Posted April 29, 2009 So far my favorite books that deal with qi and energy are: 1. Miracles Through Pranic Healing by Master Choa Kok Sui -- best intro I've ever come across for energy work. 2. Advanced Pranic Healing by Master Choa Kok Sui-- deals with color qi/prana and gives techniques for faster healing 3. Pranic Psychotherapy by Master Choa Kok Sui -- teaches techniques that utilize holy energy or tian qi to heal psychological ailments 4. Psychic Self-Defense for Home and Office by Master Choa Kok Sui-- gives techniques that deal more with energy and less with ritual for psychic self-defense. 2. Your Hands Can Heal You by Stephen Co -- deals with pranic healing too but language is more targeted for westerners 3. Awakening Healing Energy of The Tao by Mantak Chia ** -- deals with microcosmic orbit 4. Awakening Healing Light of The Tao by Mantak Chia ** -- deals with microcosmic orbit 5. Achieving Oneness With The Higher Soul by Master Choa Kok Sui -- teaches two powerful meditations for spiritual development. 6. 9 Palaces Qi Gong by Dr. Baolin Wu -- teaches exercises to purify the body, open the third eye, and then absorb energy from the sun for physical, emotional, and spiritual health. ** I don't practice Mantak Chia's system but I find it very informative. Yuen Biao Posted April 30, 2009 I also love the book - 'Opening the Dragon Gate'. A truly awesome read and highly recommended; I've been meaning to re-read it but haven't had the time. 'Magus of Java' is very interesting too. A book in a similar vein is 'Chronicles of Tao: The Secret Life of a Taoist Master' by Ming-dao Deng, however after reading the book I found out that it was merely a work of fiction or actually based on many different people rather than one man. As a result I was left feeling a little hollow because I wanted to read something that was fairly accurate and ultimately true. Does anyone know of any books that are similar to 'Opening the Dragon Gate' and 'The Magus of Java'?

Don't seek the ultimate truth in the relative truth. But then...maybe that's exactly where you should look for it... just not how you have been doing so far! Try a different approach. yangluchan Posted May 1, 2009 Well, it's not about a Daoist, but I guess Way of the Peaceful Warrior by Dan Millman should be mentioned as well.
